Preparation for JEE Mains and 12th board exam simultaneously can be tough. Students while preparing for both feel anxious and confused. There are some tricks to your preparation where you’ll make adjustments. But few students find it difficult to prepare for both. As a result of that sometimes students get failed miserably in both or one of the two.
In the above context, many questions can be raised whether should I go for board exam only or for both simultaneously or I should drop JEE Main for one year. Answer to these questions can be different and may be suitable for different students differently.
Whether you drop one year and attempt JEE Main next year?
When you’re preparing your board exams and JEE Main simultaneously, you may not be able to devote your entire energy and focus on both. Students feel the pressure when the board exams are nearing. In that situation, students are ended up performing the below par in JEE Main or not able to get the desired rank. In this case, it’s better to drop one year and start preparing for the next year’s JEE Main in the hope of a better performance and improved marks.
Another Situation: Whether it is better to drop a year to prepare for JEE Main rather than taking admission in other colleges? It’s always a good option not to waste one year and put your career back by one year. Is there any guarantee that you would be able to score exceptionally well by dropping for one year. Hence, it will be better to take whatever the admissions offered.
Time is precious and spending extra amount on coaching and other things can’t be a clever option. That amount can be spent on the college fees for the 1st year whatever admissions you’re offered.
General Situation
Rather than remaining in the dilemma whether to prepare for board exam or JEE Main entrance or for both, a student needs to analyze his or her situation and determine their capability to appear for the exam. Though the eligibility criteria of JEE Mains is quite clear, but appearing for the exams after a year or two drop off, applicants might lose their focus.
There are students who decide to take a year off to prepare for the JEE Main to crack the JEE Main at once, rather than performing average and settling for ordinary institutes instead of likes of NITs, IIT’s BIT, etc.
- Just after 12th, only a few months are left to appear for JEE Mains and Advanced which is tough and stressful.
- Students need to allocate proper time to each subject and learn properly.
- Be clear about the concept, syllabus and question pattern. Revise regularly and practice thoroughly to score high on JEE Main and get better AIR.
