MICAT 2018: Registration, exam date, eligibility

MICAT-I is scheduled to be held on 2nd December 2018 for admission to the PGDM (C) programme. The registration process for MICAT I has commenced from August 23, 2018. The PGDM (C) course is the flagship programme of the MICA Ahmedabad; it offers specializations in marketing research, digital communication management, brand management, media management and advertising management. The last date to apply for the same is November 20 by 11:50 pm. The exam is conducted twice a year in over 48 cities across the country.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree (in the 10 + 2 + 3 system), or an equivalent qualification in any discipline, as recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Those who are appearing for the final exams of their Bachelor’s degrees are also allowed to apply for MICAT.

Selection Process:

  • Candidates for appearing MITCAT must have to take at least one of the three exams—CAT, XAT and GMAT (2017 onwards). Apart from taking one these exams, all applicants are required to appear for MICAT.
  • After clearing the MICAT exam; candidates will have to undergo both the Group Exercise (GE) & Personal Interview (PI). Candidates who are shortlisted will be called for the GE and PI at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata or Mumbai.
  • The weightage given to the exams and admission rounds is as follows: 20% for CAT/XAT/GMAT; 30% for MICAT; 20% for GE; and 30% for PI.

Exam Pattern:

MICAT is divided into three sections:

Section A: Psychometric Test

Section B: Have 4 sub-sections i.e. Verbal ability, Quantitative ability and Data Interpretation, General awareness; Divergent and Convergent Thinking

Section C: Descriptive test

Good initiative for women by IIM Kozhikode...

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode decides to make extra 60 exclusive seats for women in the institute’s Post graduate programme in Management (PGP) from the session 2019. This announcement was made during IIM Kozhikode’s 23rd Foundation day. These seats will remain in surplus and will not affect the chance of other candidates in existing seats. IIM Kozhikode (Kerala) had earlier taken this bold initiative of enhancing the number of seats for women students in its institute’s programme – starting with 30% women getting admission in 2010 which increased to 54% in the year 2013. IIM-K also looks forward to increase more opportunities for women candidates in future.

JNU accepts CAT scores: MBA admissions 2019...

It is an important year for MBA aspirants because The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi sets up the School of Management and Entrepreneurship with approval from the academic council (AC). Not only this, JNU comes in the list of colleges accepting CAT scores to give admission in this newly set branch from the session 2019. The CAT is being conducted every year by the IIMs for admission in their PGP programmes. CAT score is accepted by many B-schools and this new declaration for the MBA programme at JNU has opened up much scope for the aspirants. The MBA session in JNU will start from July next year and it will also set its criteria, where students who qualify CAT will be able to apply there.The application for Common Admission Test (CAT) for admission to Indian Institute of Management and many other top B- schools will begin on August 8 and will continue till September 19, 2018.
