IBPS Clerk recruitment 2018: 7275 vacant posts

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) issued a notification regarding the recruitment for 7275 vacant clerical posts. Aspirants can apply for the post on the official website of IBPS. The examination will be held in two parts- preliminary and main. The candidates who appear for the Preliminary exam and get qualified will be able to appear the Main exam. The online registration will tentatively begin from 18th September, 2018.

Free coaching by NTA for NEET, JEE and UGC-NET...

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be running free coaching services for higher education entrance exams from next year. NTA will be converting its 2,697 test practice centres into coaching giving centres. The teaching process in these centres will begin from May 2019. NTA will conduct mock tests for the students for which they need to register the slots for coaching in the practice centres through the mobile app or NTA’s official website. Registered candidates will be able to sit in the mock tests and after the results are out, the teachers in the centres will help the students to understand the mistakes and how to improve them. The mock test will be given only for JEE-Main and not for NEET-UG because it is not computer based exam. The online registration through mobile app and NTA’s official website will start from 1st September 2018 till 30th September.

The Union government has notified the UGC (Promotion of Academic Integrity and Prevention of Plagiarism in Higher Education Institutions) Regulations, 2018 to restrain the practice of plagiarism in PhD theses, In order to improve the quality of education and research in Indian universities. HRMD minister Prakash Javdekar said that doctorate degree will not be awarded to candidates whose dissertations have been found to be ‘Plagiarised’.As per the UGC Regulations 2018, 'every faculty, researcher and M.Phil/ PhD students should be provided with an account in plagiarism detection tools for checking the content of their scripts. Similarities up to 10% are non-punishable. For similarities within 10%-40%, the students shall have to submit a revised script within 6 months. For similarities above 60%, 'student shall not be given any mark and/or credit for the plagiarized script and his/ her registration for that course to be cancelled. Each guide or supervisor approving the thesis would have to sign an undertaking that the work assessed by them was free from plagiarism otherwise, they will not be allowed to supervise new masters, MPhil, PhD students for two years and will also be denied the right to one annual increment. In case of repeat plagiarism of over 60 percent similarity, the faculty members will be suspended, even dismissed.Institutes are also required to develop a policy on plagiarism and get it approved by the relevant statutory body of the University."All higher education institutes shall submit soft copies of all MPhil, PhD dissertations to Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET) and these are carried out in its various departments after the award of degrees for hosting in the digital repository under the Shodh Ganga e-repository programme," the draft rules say.The INFLIBNET Centre is an autonomous inter-university centre of the UGC under the ministry of human resource development (MHRD).

The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) has announced the results for August 2018 examination on its official website. Candidates can now check their results and download the marksheets. The e-certificates are digitally signed and will be made available by NIELIT.Candidates can download the CCC result by the following procedure:Select the exam.Enter your roll number and the security code (captcha).Click on 'Search' and view your result.Download the result and take a print out for future reference.
