KEAM 2020: Exam Dates Announced for Engineering

The exam date for Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical Exam (KEAM) has been announced only for the engineering exam of the academic year 2020-21 by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations (CEE). The dates were announced through an official press release. The dates are also available on the official website of CEE Kerala.

KEAM is a state-level entrance exam conducted to provide admission into various courses of engineering institutes (government and private) present in the state of Kerala. KEAM 2020 Application Form will start from the first week of February 2020 and will be conducted in 352 centers across 14 districts of Kerala, including Delhi, Mumbai, and Dubai.

KEAM 2020 Eligibility Criteria:

  • The candidate is a citizen of India. PIO and OCI candidates can also apply.
  • Candidates who are seeking admission into courses will be categorized as Keralite, Non-Keralite Category I & Non-Keralite Category II.
  • The candidate must have attained the minimum age limit of 17 years as on 31st December 2019. There is no upper age limit to apply.
  • The candidates must have passed higher secondary or its equivalent examination.
  • For Engineering, the candidate must have scored 50% marks in mathematics separately & in PCM subject together.
  • For Medical & Allied courses, the candidates must have qualified NEET exam & satisfy the nativity conditions stipulated in KEAM 2020.

The Union government has notified the UGC (Promotion of Academic Integrity and Prevention of Plagiarism in Higher Education Institutions) Regulations, 2018 to restrain the practice of plagiarism in PhD theses, In order to improve the quality of education and research in Indian universities. HRMD minister Prakash Javdekar said that doctorate degree will not be awarded to candidates whose dissertations have been found to be ‘Plagiarised’.As per the UGC Regulations 2018, 'every faculty, researcher and M.Phil/ PhD students should be provided with an account in plagiarism detection tools for checking the content of their scripts. Similarities up to 10% are non-punishable. For similarities within 10%-40%, the students shall have to submit a revised script within 6 months. For similarities above 60%, 'student shall not be given any mark and/or credit for the plagiarized script and his/ her registration for that course to be cancelled. Each guide or supervisor approving the thesis would have to sign an undertaking that the work assessed by them was free from plagiarism otherwise, they will not be allowed to supervise new masters, MPhil, PhD students for two years and will also be denied the right to one annual increment. In case of repeat plagiarism of over 60 percent similarity, the faculty members will be suspended, even dismissed.Institutes are also required to develop a policy on plagiarism and get it approved by the relevant statutory body of the University."All higher education institutes shall submit soft copies of all MPhil, PhD dissertations to Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET) and these are carried out in its various departments after the award of degrees for hosting in the digital repository under the Shodh Ganga e-repository programme," the draft rules say.The INFLIBNET Centre is an autonomous inter-university centre of the UGC under the ministry of human resource development (MHRD).

NIELIT announces CCC August 2018 results...

The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) has announced the results for August 2018 examination on its official website. Candidates can now check their results and download the marksheets. Google’s Application programme for AI/ML invites...

Google on 26th December 2018 opened applications for the next class of its "Launchpad Accelerator" mentorship programme for start-ups using Artificial Intelligence (AI)/ Machine Learning (ML) in India which is scheduled to commence in March 2019. The last date for application to the programme is January 31, 2019, as per the source. Under the Launchpad Accelerator programme, start-ups that are using AI/ML to solve India's needs would undergo an intensive in-person mentorship boot-camp, followed by customized support for three months. As Declared by Google, the selected start-ups in the second batch will be announced in February 2019 and will receive Google Cloud credits from $20,000 - going up to $100,000 each. Paul Ravindranath, Product Manager, Launchpad Accelerator India said "Our Launchpad Accelerator programme is bringing best of our expertise, platforms, tools and core strengths including Machine Learning and AI, to help Indian start-ups build, scale and grow their offering".  To this, he also added  "The first batch of Launchpad Accelerator India, saw more experienced founders hailing from tier-II and tier-III cities, leveraging AI/ML to solve for India's real problems. We are excited about the role these new age start-ups can play in creating AI-based innovative solutions across agri-tech, language, healthcare, transportation and more,". Start-ups are going to receive Google Cloud credits Each class in the Google Launchpad Accelerator India programme consists of up to 10 start-ups who receive mentorship and support from Google in AI/ML, Cloud, user experience (UX), Android, web, product strategy and marketing. The shortlisted start-ups will attend the boot-camp in Bengaluru in March and there will be follow-up engagements over April and May to help address their specific challenges, Google said.

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is all set to acquire a new logo for the Commission from January 1, 2019, while the official website and other functions of the SSC will remain the same with the adoption of the new logo, the existing one of the commission, will be withdrawn, said the commission. Note: As SSC is about to change the logo from the New Year, candidates or future aspirants looking for jobs under SSC should keep this in mind in order to protect themselves from fraud. And SSC’s Official notification, “All stakeholders have been informed and can take a good look at the new logo for future reference.” New Logo Details: The new logo of SSC is a circle in red which has the Indian emblem with the Ashok Chakra and is surrounded by the olive branches. The current logo of SSC is a green coloured circle consisting of a human figure standing in the centre. The TNPSC- Tamil Nadu  Public Service Commission has declared the result of the Tamil Nadu civil services (Group 1) main Exam 2018. The results can be found in the official website for the TNPSC  The mains written examination for The TNPSC was conducted in the month of October 2017. The candidates can visit the official website of the TNPSC to check their result. The candidates who have qualified for the main exam are eligible to appear the oral examination which is scheduled to be held in the month of January 2019. The interview is notified to be conducted at the office of TNPSC located in Chennai. The official notification also reads that “ The candidates should attend the Oral Test with all original certificates in support of the claims made in their online application. Individual communication Regarding the date and time of the Oral test will not be sent to the candidates. All the details would be available on the official website which is the Commission's website. Candidates will be informed about the above fact only through SMS and E-mail.” Also, for Group 2 Services, the commission has decided to conduct the Tamil Nadu Civil Services Main exam in February 2019.
