Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will organize the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET 2020). It is a state-level entrance test also known as Karnataka CET 2020. KCET exam is conducted to offer admission in the first year of engineering, agriculture, pharmacy & various other courses. KCET 2020 Admit Card:

The Admit card for KCET 2020 will be released by the KEA (Karnataka Examination Authority) on 2nd week of April on the official website for KCET 2020. Those who have successfully registered themselves can get the admit card by logging in to the official website.

KCET 2020 Syllabus:

Physics- 10+2 syllabus which would include topics like Electrostatics, Magnetism, Optics, Current electricity, and Waves.

Chemistry- 12th standard syllabus with topics such as Surface chemistry, organic chemistry, solid state, polymers, electrostatics, and biomolecules.

Mathematics- Differential calculus, Algebra, vectors, trigonometry, probability, and linear programming.


KCET 2020 Exam Pattern:

  • There will be multiple choice questions asked in the exam.
  • The exam will be conducted through pen and paper-based mode in OMR pattern.
  • Candidates must use blue/black ball point pen to answer.
  • Each question will contain one mark. No marks will be given in case of multiple answers to the same question.
  • There will be no negative marking done for the wrong answers.


KCET 2020 Cut Off:

Karnataka Examination Authority will release the cut-off mark for KCET 2020 soon after the declaration of the result. The cut-off will be decided on different factors such as no of seats, no of applicants, the average performance of the students in the exam.

Procedure to Apply

The application form will be invited through online mode only. KCET 2020 application form will be issued from the first week of February 2020. After entering details, students will receive the application ID and password to their registered mobile number and Email ID. Upload the scanned images of passport size photograph, signature, and left-hand thumb impression. Take a printout of the application form and obtain principal seal & signature from the college you have passed the 12th exam (it will be required at the time of document verification).

KCET 2020 Application Fee:

Application fee payment will be done through offline mode (bank Challan). Candidates residing outside India can pay the fee through DD drawn in favour of Executive Director, Karnataka Examination Authority payable at Bangalore. DD should be sent to KEA address mentioning the application number. The application fees may vary from year to year. The application fee for various categories of the year 2019 is mentioned below:


KCET 2020 Counseling:

The counseling session for KCET will start from the 2nd week of June. Those candidates who will pass the examination successfully will have to appear for the counseling session with required documents.

KCET 2020 Result:

The result for KCET 2020 will be declared in online mode by the authorities. The result will be out on the 1st week of June of 2020 on the official website of KEA. To check the result the candidates have to put their registration no in the mentioned box. The result will tell the score of the student subject wise, the total score of the student along with the rank secured by the student. 


KCET 2020 Answer Key:

The answer key for KCET 2020 will be released by the authorities after the commencement of the entrance test. The candidates can check their scores accordingly. In any case of mistake, they can also challenge the official answer key with supporting documents. They have to send it to the specified person via speed post or Email. The final decision will be made by experts.


KCET 2020 Eligibility:

Those candidates who want to appear in the KCET 2020 entrance exam are advised to go through the eligibility section thoroughly to check their eligibility for the entrance test. As the entrance test allows students to apply for different courses, the eligibility criteria also vary as per the courses.

For Engineering Courses:
  • The candidate must have passed the 10+2 or Equivalent education from a recognized board.
  • The candidate must have passed the exam with Physics, Mathematics & English as their major subjects.
  • The candidate must have scored at least 45% in Physics & another subject (From Chemistry/Computer science/Biotechnology/Biology/Electronics). However, there is 5% relaxation in case of SC/ST categories.
For B. Pharma Courses:
  • The candidate must have passed the 10+2 or Equivalent education from a recognized board.
  • The candidate must have passed the exam with PCB (Physics, Chemistry, & Biology) / PCM (Physics, Chemistry, & Mathematics) as their major subjects.
  • The candidate must have passed the exam with a minimum score of 50% (10% relaxation in case of SC/ST) in PCB stream.

A: No. As per the rule, the candidate has to study in the rural area (with a population less than 50,000) from 1st to 10th standard to claim the quota.
